Global demand for dairy products has risen by 15 percent from 40.9 million tonnes in 2003 to an estimated 47 million tonnes in 2008, according to a report from food and drink consultancy Zenith International.

World consumption of coffee is projected to increase by 0.4 percent annually from 6.7 million tonnes (111 million bags) in 1998 - 2000 to 6.9 million tonnes (117 million bags) in 2010, according to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).
