The Canadian edition of Poker Pro will get to Canadians every month with in-depth articles and reporting on the growing poker scene in Canada, including profiles of top internet and live players and moneymaking tips from the country's most successful pros.
According to Poker Pro Media, beginning in March 2010, Poker Pro Canada will be found every month in bookstores such as Indigo/Chapters and major retailers 7-Eleven, Petro Canada, Shoppers Drug Mart, A&P, Loblaws, Walmart and Costco. The magazines will also be available in all poker rooms from coast-to-coast and will be a major presence at Canada's poker events.
John Wenzel, executive editor at Poker Pro Canada, said: “Some say this is a time of contraction for print media, but we're bullish on the Canadian market. The game is exploding in Canada and we intend to provide enthusiasts with a slick, upscale magazine that will be fun to read and will also improve their bottom line at the tables. The Canadian poker scene is fascinating, but it doesn't get a lot of publicity. We're going to change that.”
